Dances in foprop

Dances are common in foprop; we explore them here as a central aesthetic principle in making a living economy. Situations represented as dances can be seen as struggles, that is, situations where elements in tension or contradiction might be reconciled or resolved, at least locally, by skilful 'dancing' or weaving of elements by participants.

Here we describe how the landscapes of practice and the zones of reach can generate a 'weave' of imaginative spaces that is rich enough to be a container for a pattern language of activist practice in making a living economy. foprop is an acronym for Forces of Production, Relations of Production.

Dance representations have this kind for form.

General 'dance' schema

The schema represents a space where two kinds of polarisation exist, generating four quadrants, and in the hub of the four quadrants a practice attempts to weave or dance an appropriate, harmonious combination of practice elements in and out of each of the quadrants, which constitutes a practical resolution of tensions or conflicts.

Dancing is a dialectical practice. But it also is of course a practice in-the-body - something quite different from dialectcs as an idealist philosophical gambit. While contradictions may not be resolvable in philosophical dialectics, they may be resolvable in practice - for a time, for some actors, in some locations. Development, in the real world, is uneven; also impermanent. Dances ripple eventually across the entire landscape.

Here we explore choreography, as activist capability implied by a relationship with skilful practice as dance.

Dances can be much more complex than the basic 2x2 'dance' schema implies. For example, in the landscape of the heart-mind, life is lived as a 'dance of selfing-and-othering' which operates continuously, at every moment, but extends over a lifetime.

# Meta-rigour in the hub The hub is a locus for a highly developed kind of rigour, perception and historical-evolutionary insight and capability: choreographing and dancing the making of a living economy. Aka transformative struggle. In each case, it might be seen as a kind of meta-rigour.

First paragraph - markdown.

At the heart of this meta-rigour is insight into the necessary alteration of relations of production, and ways in which altered relations can be danced and sung into practice, as newly (re-)made forces of production are set in motion, across four **zones of reach**: `in-here` (in care work), `here` (in subsistence work), in `'we'` (in formación work) and across all `regions` in geography and time, over the horizon, into the world of the grandchildren, in stewarding work.

Each of these four zones of reach has its own characteristic dance, as below: care work, subsistence work, formación work, stewarding work.
